Chapman Tripp is New Zealand's pre-eminent law firm. Our lawyers work on projects that are helping define New Zealand's future, and as part of our team, you'll be in the thick of the action.
If you are talented and looking to make a difference, Chapman Tripp has the resources, reputation and mindset to propel you to the top.
About the role
The financial services sector is highly regulated, constantly changing and vital to our economy – and we’re looking for a senior lawyer to be part of our team at the forefront of it.
Due to continued growth in our financial services practice, we are looking for a senior lawyer to join our national team based in Auckland. Ideally you will have experience in a commercial law firm environment, with some exposure to financial services, investment funds, securities law or KiwiSaver. You may also have a general corporate, finance, civil litigation or tax background.
In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will be managing files and working with the team on a wide range of significant matters for prestigious corporate and finance clients. Our team is often working alongside the firm’s corporate, tax and finance teams so you will have exposure to a wide range of market-leading matters. This is an interesting and challenging role and will suit an enthusiastic self-starter, who enjoys cultivating strong working relationships.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work directly with two of New Zealand's leading financial services partners – Tim Williams and Penny Sheerin. Tim and Penny advise clients on the full range of financial services laws locally and internationally, including establishing KiwiSaver schemes and other managed investment schemes, advising on securities, financial adviser and insurance laws and related business transactions.
