We are seeking an organised and flexible Project Services Coordinator to join our National Project Services team. This is an opportunity to be a member of a national team and work on some of New Zealand's largest commercial deals and litigation projects that are helping to define New Zealand's future.


This is a great role for someone with previous legal exposure and a keen interest in legal technology, who is looking for a new challenge and the excitement of working with NZ’s leading law firm in fabulous Commercial Bay offices.


Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Utilising methods of hard copy and electronic document management to provide legal staff with access to relevant information
  • Organising and listing large volumes of documents for major litigation and due diligence projects, as well as the set-up, maintenance and use of litigation support databases and electronic data processing and data manipulation tools
  • Assisting national Litigation teams with discovery, case management from initial disclosure to trial, processing of the native data sets, coding document information in the Litigation Support tool, assisting with preparation of inspection documents, briefing packs, and electronic bundle creation as required by High Court rules
  • Assisting Commercial teams with due diligence where necessary
  • Preparation and copying of electronic and hard copy casebooks; bundles of documents; agreed bundles; assist with affidavit of document; briefs of evidence; pleadings and indexes
  • Creating and maintaining file inventories and controlling the location and identity of client files and CT working files, both electronically and physically
  • Editing of database contents/images
  • Utilising Office 365 for access to relevant files to Chapman Tripp legal teams, and external users
  • Other duties include assisting with document collection, trial set-up, providing advice and assistance to legal teams as required


Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally a tertiary qualification in Law or IT, or previous experience in the legal industry
  • An enthusiastic team player with initiative and curiosity
  • MS Office 365 exposure and ability to adapt to new technology with ease
  • Strong admin support skills and experience 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Keen interest in legal technology
